CrannMed has an opportunity for a graduate R&D Engineer to support the engineering team with development activities of our next generation catheters and delivery systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior engineer with day-to-day technical tasks associated with the development of embolic particles and implants within the peripheral anatomy.
  • Prepare component and raw material specifications.
  • Support R&D and manufacturing product testing, in terms of execution, data analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure R&D lab and test area and equipment are following best practices and compliant to AOS13485.
  • Responsible for scheduled maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Execution of IQ/OQs for lab and production equipment.
  • Communicate and update project activities using project management methodologies.
  • Support the Senior engineer to set up pilot lines used to build early batches of pre-clinical devices.
  • Manage lab improvement projects which will ensure efficiency and repeatability of product performance testing.

Background & Qualifications

  • Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering or any other relevant engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 months work experience in relevant job place as part of undergraduate bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience gained as part of undergraduate placement should include test method development, IQ and OQ execution as well as demonstrated product testing.
  • Have a good knowledge of 3D modelling software and cad, for example, CREO or Solidworks.
  • Experience with 3D printing is advantageous.
  • Have previous experience with GDP & GMP standards.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of engineering materials used in medical device manufacturing such as metals, polymers and advanced materials.
  • A strong problem solver with knowledge and experience of DMAIC or other problem-solving tools.
  • Must be organised, demonstrate innovation and have a strong work ethic on individual projects and as part of a team project.
  • Effective communication skills. Both verbal and written – English
  • Extremely comfortable with hands-on and technical work.
