CrannMed has an opportunity for an R&D Project Manager to lead a skilled, talented, and passionate project team as we develop innovative solutions for treating peripheral vascular disease.

Responsibilities

  • The R&D project manager will be responsible for leading a project team comprising of engineers, scientists, quality, and regulatory assurance personnel.
  • Manage a portfolio of development projects which involve the development of interventional procedures for the treatment of peripheral vascular disease.
  • Manage and solve project challenges by using problem solving tools, communication, and stakeholder management.
  • Responsible for preparing project updates and reporting for communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish priorities and ensure all team members are aligned and focused on resolving issue which impact these.
  • Manage all project objectives and actions, in particular those associated with risk, cost and execution.
  • Create an environment that promotes innovation, problem solving, use of engineering and design first principles balanced against on time execution, delivery of milestones and objectives.
  • Focus on developing the team and external suppliers to ensure that we have a high performing technical R&D group.
  • Motivate the team through positive communication, celebration of successes, collaboration activities.
  • Create a toolbox of project management tools and practices that can be used by the core project team.

Background & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in Engineering/Science or related discipline.
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in project management withing medical devices environment.
  • Medical Device product development experience required.
  • A PMP or equivalent project management accreditation.
  • Experience with delivery system design in either peripheral, cardiology or neurovascular anatomy.
  • Experience with systems used to deliver permanent or semi-permanent implants. These can be either particles, beads or metal implants like stents, filters, valves, shunts etc.
  • A strong problem solver with knowledge and experience of DMAIC or other problem solving tools.
  • Experience working in a dynamic fast paced start up environment.
  • Experience of project management of core technical work packages, creation of project plans, risk mitigation, stakeholder analysis and communication.
  • Good communication skills. Both verbal and written – English
